When she was attending school at UCLA, she was raped with a gun to her head by a stranger in the Payless shop where she was working at the time. The trauma from that experience could not be simply left behind her – it followed her home.
Union writes, “The way my dad looked at me after (he heard what happened), oh my God, is still a nightmare. I sued Payless for negligence, but, I wanted to sue them for my dad looking at me like that.” Click on through to learn more and to hear her story about her miscarriages.
Union continued, “The look was: Damaged. Victim. Guilt. Fear. I was the kid you bragged about. I got great grades. Was the perfect athlete. Blah blah blah. And in that moment, I was damaged.”
