You would think you had stepped back into the 19th century with this story! An Ohio middle school teacher  told a 13 year old black student that he would be lynched by his former classmates if he didn’t behave. Get this, she was NOT fired or suspended!

The teacher, Renee Thole, made the comment in December when the student was “off-task and not responding to her instruction.” The student called her out with being racist but was afraid to tell his mother Tanisha Agee-Bell until a week after due to thinking he would be in trouble for talking back to the teacher.

Thole definitely chose the wrong student to make the remark to. Tanisha has sat on the school’s Diversity Council for a decade and decided to meet with Thole after hearing about the incident from her son.

In the meeting Tanisha recounted that Thole became frustrated to which she replied, “‘Next time you’re frustrated, are you going to call [my son] a n*gger?’” Good point, Miss Agee-Bell!
